A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
WATER

WHEREAS, staff has calculated the final water
consumption projections for the remainder of the FY 1990 -91 water
year; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood will not use 600 acre
feet of water of its allowed pumping allotment for FY 1990 -91;
and
WHEREAS, water purveyors are not allowed to carry over
more than 10% of the allowed pumping allotment into the next
fiscal year and the water cannot be stored for future use; and
WHEREAS, bids were obtained from area water purveyors
for the lease of said unused water; and
WHEREAS, the best price obtained for the lease of the
unused water was $91.70 per acre -foot, from San Gabriel Valley
Water Company, thereby $55,020 would be generated from this water
lease.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood does hereby find, proclaim and resolve as follows:
Section 1 . That the City Council authorize the
leasing of 600 acre -feet of water at $91.70 an acre -foot to San
Gabriel Valley Water Company.
Section 2 . This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
