A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING
STAFF TO OBTAIN INFORMAL BIDS FOR PURCHASE OF A MAIL INSERT MACHINE
WHEREAS, the purchase of mail insert system will automate the
hand labor operation of municipal /water bills and other mailings;
and
WHEREAS, the system will help fold and insert billings and
mailing of 3,600 pieces in an hour, in contrast to three to four
hours if done manually; and
WHEREAS, the inserts will allow additional mailings considered
too time consuming and costly in the past; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6 -3.13 (c) of the Lynwood Municipal
Code, Council can authorize purchases through informal bids by a
4/5 vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the City Council of the
City of Lynwood does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby finds and determines
that the purchase of mail insert equipment can be completed more
expeditiously and efficiently through informal bids.
Section 2. That this resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of May, 1990.
