A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING STAFF TO
PHASE THE BULLIS ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
PROJECT USING DIFFERENT FUNDING SOURCES
AND BIDDING PROCEDURES. PROJECT 5 -5138
WHEREAS, this project is listed in the FY 1991 -92
CIP Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to complete the
FY 1991- 92•CIP Program in a timely and efficient manner; and
WHEREAS, this project is funded with $125,000 of
Section 108 and $175,000 of Gas Tax funds; and
WHEREAS, Section 108 mandates formal bidding
procedures for all work using these funds; and
WHEREAS, the project can be completed more expeditiously
and efficiently_ by phasing the project with different funding
sources; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6 -3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal
Code, City Council can authorize purchases through informal bids by a
4/5 vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1 . That the City Council authorize staff to phase
the Bullis Road Improvements Project as follows:
' Phase I : To reconstruct curb and gutter, sidewalk,
drive approaches using Gas Tax funds.
This phase shall be expeditiously and
effectively done through informal bidding.
Phase II : To reconstruct the street pavement and
striping using Section 108 funds. This
phase shall be implemented through
formal bidding.
Section 2 . This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 20th day of
August 1991.
