A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
APPOINT A MEMBER TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE SOUTHEAST CITIES TRANSPORTATION
AUTHORITY AND TO ALSO APPOINT AN ALTERNATE
' DIRECTOR TO SERVE IN THE DIRECTOR'S ABSENCE
WHEREAS, on January 16, 1990, the City Council
approved the City of Lynwood's participation in the Southeast
Cities Transportation Authority (SECTA); and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon, South Gate,
Huntington Park, Compton, and Lynwood are SECTA's current
members; and
WHEREAS, as stipulated in Article 4 in the Joint
Powers Agreement (Agreement), the Agreement became effective
when a fourth city, Huntington Park, executed a copy of the
Agreement on January 6, 1992; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article 8 of the
Agreement, each legislative body of each member city must appoint
a member to serve on the Board of Directors as well as an
alternate director to serve in the director's absence.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
I SECTION 1: That the City Council does hereby
authorize the Mayor to appoint a member to serve on the Board of
Directors of SECTA.
SECTION 2: That the City Council does hereby
authorize the Mayor to also appoint an alternate director to
serve on the Board of Directors when the appointed director is
absent.
SECTION 3: That this resolution shall take
effect immediately upon its adoption.
