A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD ASSESSING THE COST OF ABATEMENT AT 11320
ATLANTIC AVENUE, CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA,
(TAX ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NO. 6194- 03 -20)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has held a public hearing and
has found and declared the property at 11320 Atlantic Avenue, legally described as Tax Assessor's
Book No. 6194, Lot 03, Page 20, to be a public nuisance as defined in Chapter 3 13 of the
Lynwood Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, the owner of this property was notified of the steps necessary to abate
the nuisance, and directed to abate the nuisance as defined in Chapter 3 -13 7 of the Lynwood
Municipal Code; and,
WHEREAS, the owner of the property was notified that the nuisance would be
abated by City personnel or private contractor if not abated by the owner within thirty (30) days of
the date of the Resolution, with the property owner to be liable to the City for all cost of
abatement, pursuant to Chapter 3 -13.8 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, and,
WHEREAS, after the thirty -day period described above the nuisance was ordered to
be abated by City forces or private contractor as noted in the attached Abatement Cost Report;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that,
Section 1 . The Abatement Cost Report of the Director of Community
Development, on file with the City Clerk and attached hereto as an exhibit is hereby confirmed
and approved. The cost of said abatement, totaling $ 12.033.43 hereby assessed against the
property shall be imposed as a special assessment upon the property located at 11320 Atlantic
Avenue, in the City of Lynwood, California.
Section 2 . The County Tax Assessor, County Tax Collector and Auditor are
hereby authorized and directed, upon receipt of this resolution, to receive the same and to
proceed to add the amount of the assessment indicated in the Abatement Cost Report to the next
regular bill of taxes levied against the parcel of land described herein and to enter the same
amount in the County Assessment Book opposite the property described herein to in the
Abatement Cost Report. Such assessment shall be collected with all other taxes against the
property at the same time and in the same manner, and shall be subject to the same penalties and
the same procedure and sale in case of delinquency as provided for ordinary municipal taxes, all as
provided in the Lynwood Municipal Code, Chapter 3 -13 11 and California Government Section
38773.5.
Section 3 . The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy of this
resolution to be served upon the owner of the property by registered or certified mail addressed to
the owner at the last known address, pursuant to Chapter 3 -13 4(a) of the Lynwood Municipal
Code.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City of
Lynwood held on the 7th day of April, 1992.
