A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
SIGN THE AGREEMENT FOR PREPARATION OF
AN AIR QUALITY ELEMENT
WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 91 -163, the City
Council authorized the Mayor to sign an agreement to join
together with eighteen other Cities to form the Southeast Los
Angeles County Air Quality Consortium (Consortium); and
WHEREAS, the Air Quality Management Plan (AQMP)
adopted by South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD)
required local governments to take policy and regulatory actions
within their authority which can reduce air emissions; and
WHEREAS, after a complete evaluation of each of
the consultants, the Consortium selected The Planning Center; and
WHEREAS, the contract will be between The Planning
Center and the City; and
WHEREAS, the Consortium was awarded $150,000 by
the SCAQMD to hire a consultant for the preparation of the
Southeast Los Angeles Air Quality Element.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council does hereby
authorize the Mayor to sign the Agreement for the preparation of
Air Quality Element between the City of Lynwood and The Planning
Center.
SECTION 2: That the City Council does hereby
appoint a member of the City Council to be a member of the
Public /Private Sector Task Force.
SECTION 3: This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
