RESOLUTION NO. 92 -67
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE RENEWAL OF THE LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH LOS ANGELES COUNTY
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood maintains a Law Enforcement
Contract with the County of Los Angeles to provide contract law
enforcement services to the City; and
WHEREAS, the present five year Law Enforcement Contract will -
expire on June 30, 1992 and it is necessary to renew said
agreement; and

WHEREAS, the renewal contract period for this Agreement was
changed to two years and upon expiration of the two year renewal,
Lynwood will be on the same expiration cycle as the remainder of
the County's contract cities and a standard five year contract will
then be used for any subsequent renewals; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood wishes to
continue obtaining the law enforcement services provided by the
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department; and
WHEREAS, under the present contractual arrangements with the
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, additional services
currently received by the City are (1) Traffic Law Enforcement
(2) Community Service Personnel (3) License Investigation and
Enforcement and (4) Helicopter Service; and
WHEREAS, the additional services stated above are not covered
by the general Law Enforcement Services Agreement and must be
requested via separate resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby resolve as follows:
Section That. the City Council approves the renewal of the
City- County Law Enforcement Services Agreement and authorizes the
Mayor to execute the said two year Agreement which shall be
effective on July 1, 1992 and remain in effect until June 30, 1994
and;
' Section 2: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a certified copy of this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of
Supervisors, the County Sheriff's Department and the Chief
Administrative Officer of the County of Los Angeles.
Section 3. That this resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
