A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE THE "ASSURANCES AND UNDERSTANDINGS
REGARDING RECEIPT AND USE OF PROPOSITION C
FUNDS"
WHEREAS, on November 6, 1990 the voters of Los
Angeles County approved Proposition C, a measure which increases
the sales tax in the county by 1/2 cent, and
WHEREAS, the Proposition C ordinance requires that
local return must be used for public transit purposes, and
WHEREAS, the City is expected to receive a lump
sum of $491,625, monies collected since June 1991 and held in
escrow pending resolution of a litigation, and
WHEREAS, after the initial disbursement, cities
will begin receiving their Local Return allocation on a monthly
basis starting with FY 92 -93, and
WHEREAS, in order to expedite the allocation of
funds to local jurisdictions by the Los Angeles County Auditor,
all cities must first execute and return the "Assurances and
Understandings Regarding Receipt of Prop. C funds ", and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council does hereby
authorize the Mayor to execute the "Assurances and Understandings
Regarding Receipt and Use of Proposition C funds."
SECTION 2: This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
