A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ADOPTING A REVISED
FEE SCHEDULE FOR ANIMAL REGULATION

WHEREAS, per Resolution No. 91 -181, the City Council
awarded the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and
Control a five -year contract commencing July 1, 1992 which
includes animal licensing, animal control, animal sheltering, and
canvassing; and
WHEREAS, the Animal Control Division of the
Administration Department is responsible for the monitoring of
the level of service and type of service being provided by the
Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control; and
WHEREAS, the fee schedule is revised to reflect the
total cost reasonably borne in providing animal regulation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The fee schedule for Animal Regulation is as
follows:
I. SPAYING AND NEUTERING
All dogs and cats sold by the department
must be spayed or neutered. The fee
for any such services performed by the
department shall be paid at the time of
purchase. Except that, for such
animals purchased under the age of 4 months,
the department shall collect a trust
deposit, redeemable to the purchases
upon proof that spay/neuter services have
been performed by a licensed veterinarian
after such animal has reached the age of
4 months.

veterinary services performed during

VI. INDIVIDUAL ANIMAL LICENSES
Every person owning a dog over the age of
four months shall obtain an annual license
and tag for such dog; except, there shall be
a one -time only fee for registration of
discharged military dogs, for guide dogs or
seeing -eye dogs, for signal dogs trained to
assist the hearing impaired, for service dogs
trained to perform tasks to assist the
physically handicapped and for spayed or
neutered dogs belonging to senior citizens
upon payment of the following fees:
A. Dog license and tag fees
1. Unspayed /unneutered
2. Spayed /neutered
3. Senior Citizen -
spayed /neutered dog

Any dog or cat may be registered in the
department's Voluntary Identification
Program. Such animal shall be assigned

Inspection of business premises required
annually -Fee. Prior to the registration of a dog,
subject to this Part 3 the county shall
inspect the business establishment premises
so as to assure the adequate housing and care
of the dog. An initial inspection fee of $50.00
shall be charged to the business, and an annual
inspection shall thereafter be required at a
rate of $50.00.
SECTION 2. That the Animal Regulation's percentage of
Costs Reasonably Borne to be Recovered shall be 50% and that the
fees listed above shall be reviewed on an annual basis.
SECTION 3. That for FY 92 -93 a three -month
moratorium commencing July 1, 1992 to September 30, 1992 be
established, that after September 30, 1992, the City will start
assessing the delinquency charges for annual license renewal not
obtained before the date of expiration.
' SECTION 4. This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
