A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD ACCEPTING THE SEWER IMPROVEMENT
PROJECT PHASE I, PROJECT NO. 5 -5135 AS COMPLETE
AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PHASE II OF THIS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the first phase of the project consisted of the
cleaning and televising of 50,000 feet of sewer lines; and
WHEREAS, the first phase of the project was awarded to
National Plant Services Inc., the lowest bidder, on February 4, 1992;
and
WHEREAS, the final contract cost is $22,396.46; and

WHEREAS, staff inspected the project and found it to be
complete in accordance with specifications; and
WHEREAS, the results of the first phase of the project has
identified 1,500 feet of severely damaged sewer lines, in need of
repairs; and
WHEREAS, as part of the Sewer Manhole Repair Project
(5- 5136), staff has inspected 300 manholes out of the City's 1,600
manholes; and
WHEREAS, 14 manholes have been identified as needing
rehabilitation of which three (3) manholes are in need of immediate
repairs at a cost of $11,000; and
WHEREAS, by utilizing the remaining funds in the Sewer
Improvement Project (5- 5135), and Sewer Manhole Repairs (5 -5136)
$94,000 can be used towards the rehabilitation of 900 feet of
damaged sewer lines and three (3) damaged manholes; and
WHEREAS, the remaining 600 feet of sewer lines and 11
manholes in need of rehabilitation will be repaired at a later date
when funds become available.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council accepts the Sewer
Improvement Project, Phase I, Project No. 5 -5135 as complete
in accordance with contract documents.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes staff to
proceed with the advertisement for the second phase of the Sewer
Improvement Project (5- 5135), which will include rehabilitation of
900 feet of damaged sewer lines and three (3) manholes, as identified
in the first phase of the project.
Section 3. This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21st day of
July , 1992.
