A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE SELECTION OF
WESTERN WASTE INDUSTRIES TO CONDUCT A ONE
TIME HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION
PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND AUTHORIZE
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, a proper means of household hazardous waste
' disposal is needed for Lynwood residents ; and
WHEREAS, funding for a one time household hazardous waste
collection event is available through a grant received from the
California Integrated Waste Management Board; and
WHEREAS, Request for Proposals were advertised for this
work beginning on June 3, 1992.; and
WHEREAS, and whereas five proposals were received from waste
management firms; and
WHEREAS, after careful evaluation of the proposals, staff
feels that Western Waste Industries would be best suited to
perform the work; and
WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that the Contractor
has the necessary experience and qualifications to perform said
work.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council approve the selection of
Western Waste Industries to conduct a one time Household
Hazardous Waste collection program at an estimated cost of
$35,000 based on estimated amount of 72 drums of hazardous waste
disposed. Actual total project cost will be based on actual
amount of waste collected based on agreed unit prices.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute
the contract agreement.
Section 3. This resolution shall go into effect immediately
upon its adoption.

August 1992.
