AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has grant funding available through its Urban Forest Conservation Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond wishes to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to develop Phase I of a park system tree inventory and a park system forest management
plan; and
WHEREAS, a local match of fifty percent (50%) is required and will come from in-kind labor and local funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00).
3. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to provide local funds in an amount up to fifty percent (50%) from in-kind labor and local funds.
4. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to develop Phase I of a park system tree inventory and a park system forest management plan.
Passed and adopted this 18th__ day of January ____ 2005, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
