A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF MOAB
SANITARY SEWER MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Moab is the owner and operator of a public sanitary sewer collection system;
and
WHEREAS, the Utah Department of Environmental Quality has adopted Rule R317-801, requiring all
agencies that own and operate a public sanitary sewer collection system adopt a Sanitary Sewer
Management Plan (SSMP); and
WHEREAS, the main purpose of the SSMP is to provide a plan and schedule to properly manage, operate,
and maintain all parts of the sewer collection system to reduce and prevent Sanitary Sewer Overflows
(SSOs), as well as minimize impacts of any SSOs that occur; and
WHEREAS, the Moab City Council has reviewed and discussed the Draft Sanitary Sewer Management
Plan at a public meeting on September 22, 2015, and found the plan to be in an acceptable format,
NOW THEREFORE, we, the Governing Body of the City of Moab do hereby resolve to approve the
Sanitary Sewer Management Plan in substantially the form attached to this resolution.
Passed and adopted by action of the Governing Body of the City of Moab in open session this
13th day of October, 2015.
