AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”) has funding available through its assistance to Firefighters Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, T he City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to purchase and install mobile data terminals and associated software
for firefighting vehicles; and
WHEREAS, a local match of ten percent (10%) of total project costs, an amount totaling Nineteen Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-Eight Dollars and No Cents ($19,658.00) is required and will
come from local funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
The City of Richmond Fire Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The City of Richmond Fire Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to One Hundred Seventy-Six Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars and No Cents ($176,925.00).
The City of Richmond hereby commits to provide the local match funding in an amount up to Nineteen Thousand Six Hundred Fifty-Eight Dollars and No Cents ($19,658.00).
Passed and adopted this 4th___ day of April_________, 2005, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
