CLOSED SESSION MINUTES
HILLSBOROUGH TOWN BOARD
September 9, 1997
9:00 AM, Hillsborough Police Department Training Room
The Hillsborough Town Board met in Closed Session on August 27, 1997 at 9:00 AM in
the Hillsborough Police Department Training Room for the purpose of discussing a personnel
issue. Present for the Closed Session were Mayor Horace Johnson, Commissioners Remus
Smith, Richard Simpson, Catherine Martin, Kenneth Chavious, and Evelyn Lloyd. Staff present
was Interim Town Manager Sherry Carter.
Mayor Horace Johnson called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM.
Upon a motion by Commissioner Martin, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd, the Board
moved to go into Closed Session for the purpose of discussing a personnel matter by a vote of 5-
O. The motion was declared passed.
The Board entered into discussion of the finalists for consideration for the Town Manager
position and scheduled dates for interviews.
Upon a motion by Commissioner Smith , seconded by Commissioner Lloyd, the Board
moved to return to Open Session.
Commissioner Smith reminded the Board members of the TJCOG World Class
Conference. He stated that he believed that this should be paid for by the annual dues paid by the
Town and encouraged the Board not to use additional local funds.
Upon a motion by Commissioner Martin, seconded by Commissioner Chavious, the
Board moved to adjourn by a vote of 5-0. The motion was declared passed.
