McCall City Council
As a member of this community, a homeowner, and a business owner, I am writing this letter to express my
concern regarding the possible changes to city ordinances relating to franchised companies.
My family and 1 have enjoyed the quite hometown feeling of McCall for more than nine years. We love living,
working, and being here in McCa11 because of the atmosphere and feeling we get by being part of this close knit
community. We did not move to this community to become wealthy, but to enjoy this atmosphere and allow
my family to feel the security and safety of this beautiful area. I truly believe that most of the appeal and unique
personal feel of the community are the individual businesses located throughout town and the pride taken in
those businesses.
If a change in ordinance were allowed and franchised businesses were introduced into the community, I fear
most of what is attractive and unique to our community will be lost. As I'm sure you are all aware, it is very
difficult to make a suitable and sustainable living in this community. If franchised businesses were introduced
to the community it would ruin or at the very least severely dampen the opportunities of local businesses and
drastically change the look and feel of our community. I believe much of what makes our community attractive
would be lost and the drive through town would be little different than driving down some random road in the
Boise area.
Thank you for your time.
