Closed Session Minutes offlciaJJy "Unsealed"fOpened" by Town Board Action on February 14, 2005 d tJ"7, S- MINUTES IDLLSBOROUGH TOWN BOARD CLOSED SESSION SEPTEMBER 18, 1997 7:00 PM, Police Training Room The Hillsborough Town Board met in closed session on September 18, 1997 at 7:00 PM in the Police Training Room. Present for the Board Meeting were Mayor Horace Johnson, Commissioners Kenneth Chavious, Evelyn Lloyd, Catherine Martin, Richard Simpson, and Remus Smith. Staff present was Interim Town Manager Sherry Carter. Mayor Johnson added the consideration of a contract with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for debris removal along the Eno River to the agenda for discussion after closed session with the Board members' approval. Interim Manager Carter asked for a discussion of the Faucette Mill Road improvements before adjourning and the Board members approved. Upon a motion by Commissioner Martin, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd, the Board moved into closed session for the purpose of discussing a personnel issue by a vote of 5-0. The motion was declared passed. The Board conducted an interview with Town Manager candidate AI Leonard from Tabor City, North Carolina At 8:00, Commissioner Martin asked to be dismissed and the Board agreed by consensus. Upon a motion by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by Commissioner Chavious, the Board moved out of closed session by a vote of 4-0. The motion was declared passed. Upon a motion by Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Chavious, the Board moved to authorize the Interim Manager to sign a contract with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for debris removal along the Eno River by a vote of 4-0. The motion was declared passed. Interim Manager Carter asked for direction regarding the improvement at Faucette Mill Road. She said she has received the plans from NCDOT and it appears two tracts of land will need to be purchased.
