HomeMy Public PortalAbout032-2014 - Appropriation - Monies for full time secretaryCOMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA ORDINANCE NO.32-2014 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.53-2013 KNOWN AS THE 2014 SALARY ORDINANCE WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointive officer, deputy and other employee of the city departments, except police officers and firefighters, prior to November I' for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council; and WHEREAS, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation of the deputies and employees of the Clerk's office prior to November 1' for the ensuing budget year, subject to the approval of Common Council; and WHEREAS, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed but may be reduced by the Mayor for each appointive officer, deputy and other employee of the city departments set forth herein or by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerk's office, except by amendment approved by Common Council; and WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance No. 53-2013 to establish salaries for the year 2014 and now finds it necessary to amend the salaries and position titles of various departments. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during the calendar year 2014, to wit: FIRST RESPONSE FUND/ GENERAL FUND FIRE: Bi-weekly Annual Assistant Secretary TEMPORARY AND PART TIME: $961.54 $25,000.04 In addition to the positions set forth above, the Mayor and the City Department Heads may, as needed, hire and compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets. Compensation for these positions may range from $7.25 to $15.00 per hour. ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION: In addition to the salaries set forth above, certain employees, excluding members of the Board of Works, the Aviation Board, and the Park and Recreation Board, may be entitled to additional compensation, such as overtime, compensation time, etc., and fringe benefits as set forth within the City of Richmond Personnel Police or as stated in negotiated contracts.
