AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available through its Scenic Byway Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond wishes to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to for trail development in the central section of Richmond’s trail located between
the Cardinal Greenway and the Starr-Gennett area; and
WHEREAS, a local match of twenty percent (20%) is required that will be met through the use of pre-purchased materials from a previous grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Transportation, Scenic Byway Program.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Three Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($320,000.00).
3. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to provide local funds in an amount up to twenty percent (20%) through the use of pre-purchased materials from a previous grant.
4. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for trail development in the central section of Richmond’s trail located between the Cardinal Greenway and the
Starr-Gennett area.
