AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, the Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available through its Transportation Enhancement (TE) Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond, Indiana desires to act as a “pass through” agent to obtain funds that will be used by the Urban Enterprise Association to perform exterior renovation on
the Pennsylvania Railroad Depot located on North E Street; and
WHEREAS, a local match of One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00) is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The Mayor of the City of Richmond is authorized to prepare and submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Transportation.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Four Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($480,000.00.).
3. The City of Richmond, Indiana hereby commits to provide local funds in an amount up to One Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($120,000.00).
4. The grant funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be provided to the Urban Enterprise Association to perform exterior renovation on the Pennsylvania Railroad Depot located
on North E Street.
