A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNEO FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A
GRANT FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR ADAPTIVE TRAFFIC
SIGNALIZATION AND APPROVING AN AGREEMENT
RELATED TO THE SAME; PROVIDING FOR
AUTHORIZATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
\ryHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne (the "Village") desires to improve traffic flow
and congestion within the Village through implementing an adaptive traffic control system; and
\ryHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation (the "FDOT") has proposed, and the
Village desires to accept, a $165,000.00 grant to assist in the costs of implementing the new traffic
control system (the "Grant"); and
WHEREAS, FDOT requires a written agreement to accept the Grant, in substantially the
form attached hereto as in Exhibit "A," (the "Agreement") for acceptance of terms and conditions of
the Grant; and
\ilHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and
welfare of the residents of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDAO AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals Adopted. Each of the above stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confirmed and incorporated herein.
Section 2. Grant Accepted and Agreement Approved.The Village Council
hereby accepts the Grant with FDOT and approves the Agreement in substantially the form
attached hereto as Exhibit "A."
Section 3. Authorization. The Village Manager is hereby authorized to execute the
Agreement, in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit "4," subject to approval as to
form, content, and legal sufficiency by the Village Attorney.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
adoption.
