HomeMy Public PortalAboutUnnumbered (11-21-72)UNNUMBERED RESOLUTION ]Xk). A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD COMMENDING POLICE CHIEF, RALPH E. DARTON FOR TWENTY -FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY WHEREAS, Police Chief Ralph Darton has served the City of Lynwood since November 16, 1947, and WHEREAS, Chief Darton was hired into the City service as a patrolman and subsequently achieved the rank of sergeant on June 1, 1950, and the rank of Chief of Police on December 10, 1954, and WHEREAS, throughout these years of increasingly responsible service, he has guided the development of the Lynwood Police Department from a force of 30 personnel to a total department strength of 74 employees including dispatchers, police cadets, and a police woman, and WHEREAS, he has played a key role in the development of Police - Community relations throughout the State culminating in his recent position of presiding over the Police Chiefs' Section of the League of California Cities for 1972, and WHEREAS, his dedicated assistance and cooperation with the citizens and businessmen of Lynwood has lead to greater understanding and cooperation throughout the Community, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD that the Council hereby extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Police Chief Ralph Darton for his continuing leadership in the Lynwood Police Department and his active participation in Community administration and development.
