GREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL
REGULAR SESSION
TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2001 7:00 P.M. CITY BALL
The Greencastle Common Council met in Regular Session Tuesday, August 14, 2001, 7:00 p.m.
at City Hall. Mayor Michael called the meeting to Order at 7:10 p.m. On the Roll Call, the
following were found to be present: Councilor Roach, Councilor Hammer, Councilor Crampton,
Councilor Liechty and Councilor Rokicki. Also present was City Attorney Laurie Robertson.
Public Petitions and Comments
Resident Wally Estes asked if/when asphalt is going to be replaced in front of his residence on
South Jackson Street. Mayor Michael stated that will be part of our 2001 asphalt work.
Department Reports
Engineer Morrow stated bids for asphalt are to be opened September 6, 2001.
Motion to approve minutes from June 12, 2001, Regular Session; July 5, 2001, Joint Session; July
® 24, 2001 Executive Session and July 24, 2001, Special Session was made by Councilor Hammer,
seconded by Councilor Rokicki. Vote was as follows: Councilor Roach, yes, Councilor
Hammer, yes; Councilor Crampton, abstain; Councilor Liechty, yes and Councilor Rokicki, yes.
General Business
Motion to approve City claims made by Councilor Liechty, seconded by Councilor Rokicki. Vote
was unanimous.
Ordinance 2001 -3, An Ordinance Amending City of Greencastle Employee Manual, second
reading. Motion to approve made by Councilor Roach, seconded by Councilor Liechty. Vote
was unanimous.
Ordinance 2001 -4, An Ordinance Approving the Vacation of an Alley Located Between Maple
and Illinois Street Located in the City of Greencastle, Indiana, second reading. Motion to
approve made by Councilor Roach, seconded by Joe Liechty. Vote was unanimous.
Ordinance 2001 -6, An Ordinance of the City of Greencastle Authorizing the Advance Refunding
by the City of its Sewage Works Revenue Bonds of 1994; Authorizing the Issuance of Sewage
Works Revenue Bonds for the Purpose of Providing Funds to Pay the Cost of Certain Additions,
Extension and Improvements to the Municipal Sewage Works of said City; Providing for the
Safeguarding of Interests of the Owners of said Bonds, Other Matters Connected Therewith,
• Including the Issuance of Notes in Anticipation of Bonds, and Repealing Ordinances Inconsistent
Herewith, second reading. Motion to approve made by Councilor Hammer, seconded by
