Re: Agenda Item—Transfer of Funds Request
As you recall, on March 22, 2016 the Honorable Town Council adopted conceptual
recommendations on the Fiscal Year 2017—2021 Capital Improvement Program. Conceptual
Recommendation#2 reads as follows:
2. Proceed with the remaining proposed loan orders for FYI 4:
Skating Rink(Scoreboard and Exit Doors) 34,000
Library Improvements (various) 100,000
Total: $134,000
Attached please find correspondence from Daniel Brothers, Skating Rink Director requesting
funding of a new scoreboard and the replacement of three (3) emergency exit doors in order to
have these upgrades completed for the upcoming season.
The intent was to bring forward a proposed loan order for these upgrades. Monies are available to
fund these upgrades from Full Time Salaries accounts as a result of positions being unfilled for a
portion of Fiscal Year 2016 and from the Elections Temporary Part Time Salaries account as a result
of fewer election exercises.
Therefore, given all of the above, I respectfully request the attached transfer be placed on the
July 12, 2016 Town Council Agenda.

RE: Scoreboard and Emergency Exit Doors

Sir,this memo is a request to secure the funding in the amount of thirty-eight thousand dollars($38,000)for two projects that are in the
FY 14 Capital Improvement Program,the scoreboard and the replacement of three(3)emergency exit doors. Both of these projects are
critical operational issues at the arena. We have maintained this equipment to the best of our ability. Any further work on these at this
time,would prove to be futile.

Total Estimate of work to be completed $38,000.00
I ask for your assistance for consideration of these items on the July 12, 2016 Town Council Meeting. Approval would allow these
upgrades to be completed for the upcoming season. I would estimate the doors to be completed by September 1, 2016. The scoreboard,
because of delivery time,would be estimated to be installed October 1, 2016. This would be prior to the start of the college and high
school ice hockey seasons.
I appreciate the consideration for this item in the capital program.
