Re: Use of Services of RiskJockey for production of video and digital records for government
agencies
Dear Mike:
You have asked my opinion regarding whether government agency use of the services of
RiskJockey for online production of digitally released records, including but not limited to video
records, is permissible. Based on my research, I believe such use to be permissible as long as
any release complies with applicable provisions of the Georgia Open Records Act.
Georgia law does not preclude a governmental agency or local government from entering into
an agreement to provide, on an ongoing basis, documents known as incident reports relating to
automobile accidents, including photographs, videos and other recordings, subject to Georgia
Open Records Act, and statutes of Georgia law relating to open criminal investigations.
