SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The McCall Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) has powers, duties, and responsibilities outlined in Title II, Chapter 4 of McCall City Code, including 2-4-050(I): Promote and conduct
an educational and interpretive program on historic preservation and historic properties in the City.
The Community Enhancement Grant program through the Idaho State Historical Society provides funding for a wide variety of projects including exhibits, publications, educational programming,
events, and purchasing conservation supplies. Grants of up to $2,500 are available to assist historical and cultural organizations in preserving, interpreting, and protecting the history
and culture of Idaho.
The requested grant funds will be utilized to support the FY20 activities of the HPC, including creation of a video highlighting the history of McCall industry and tourism, collection
of oral histories from key McCall community members, and creation of a historic tour mobile app. The requested grant funds will be matched 1:1 with up to $2500 of FY20 City budget allocation
for the HPC (10-48-150-465).
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submittal of a Community Enhancement Grant application and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
