MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS
Date : January 6, 2020 — Regular Session
Time : 5 : 30pm
Location . 2198 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631
Present : Chair Belinda Eyestone ; Members G. Howard Hayes & Diane Salomone; Deputy
Assessor James Gallagher
Call to Order : Ms . Eyestone called the meeting to order at 5 : 33pm .
1 . Report of the Deputy Assessor : Mr . Gallagher reported that Forms of List and 3ABC
reminders have been sent to business owners and exempt property owners . The Assessors
Budget will be reviewed this week with no changes other than wage adjustments .
2 . Classified Land Applications (Chapter 61 , 61A, 61B) : Mr. Gallagher presented one
Chapter 61A renewal application for CARITAS Unlimited LLC, Off Jackson Road, Parcel
ID 45 -344 Ms . Eyestone moved to approve . Mr . Hayes seconds . Approved unanimously .
3 . Real Estate Abatements under MGL Chap . '59 s 72A : Ms . Salomone moved to issue
abatements to parcels 84 - 0 , & 5 - 0, 9- 31 -0 , 9 - 32- 0, 9 - 33 - 0, 9 -34-03 9 -35 -0, 9-36 -0, 9 -37- 05 9 -
38 -0, & 9 - 39 - 0 , all of which were purchased by the Town of Brewster, as calculated by the
Treasurer/Collector in her memo dated December 20, 2019 . Ms . Eyestone seconds the
motion. Approved unanimously.
4 . Uncollectible Boat Excise Abatements : Mr . Hayes moved to grant an abatement for
FY2020 Boat Excise Bill # 398 as identified in the December 30 , 2019 memo from the
Treasurer/Collector. Ms . Eyestone seconds . Approved unanimously .
5 . Review and approve Regular Session Meeting Minutes ; December 16, 2019 * Ms .
Eyestone moved to approve the December, 2019 minutes as presented . Ms . Salomone
seconds the motion. Approved unanimously .
6. Topics the Chair did not reasonably anticipate : None
Executive Session (To comply with or act under the authority of, any general or special law or
federal grant4n- aid requirements : MGL Chap . 59 § 60 and MGL Chap . 214 § 1B)
At 5 : 41 pm Ms . Eyestone made the motion to go into Executive Session for the reason noted
above, not to return to regular session. Ms . Salomone seconds the motion. Roll call vote : Hayes
— Aye; Eyestone — Aye , Salomone — Aye; approved unanimously.
