RESOL UTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE MIDPENINSULA REGIONAL OPEN SPACE DISTRICT
HONORING AND COMMENDING ROBERT J. MCKIBBIN
WHEREAS, Mr. Robert J. "Bob"McKibbin was appointed Director of Ward 2 on the Board of Directors
of the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District in July of 1987, and was subsequently elected to a two-
year term in 1988 and a four year term in 1990; and
WHEREAS, Bob also spent eleven years in the field, both with the District and with the California
Department of Parks and Recreation, where he honed his formidable skills in tracking wild pigs; and
WHEREAS,Bob has served in the field and on the Board with great distinction and honor, bringing his
unique expertise and talent to the complex issues facing the District; and
WHEREAS, while on the Board, Bob readily volunteered to serve, and in fact insisted on serving, on the
most popular and sought-after committees of the Board, including the budget committee, the finance
committee, and any other committee that required as many night and mid-day meetings as possible; and
WHEREAS,Bob thought that his now famous fortune cookie in 1987 said he should be "on the Board, "
when in fact it was a typographical error and was meant to say he should "drive a Ford"; and
WHEREAS,Bob recently read another fortune cookie which resulted, unfortunately, in his decision to
leave the Board in order to focus more time on his family, his work and on visiting his favorite sag pond at
Monte Bello Open Space Preserve..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Midpeninsula Regional Open
Space District, honor, commend, and applaud Bob McKibbin for his accomplishments and achievements
through his many years of exemplary service, his dedication to creating and preserving an open space
greenbelt on the mdpeninsula, and his sense of humor even in the face of crises. The Board further wishes
Bob all the best in his future endeavors, and looks forward to his continued support of the District and its
goals.
