DATE: April 7, 2016 RE: Trustee Vacancy Procedure Below is the process used the last time there was a Trustee vacancy that was filled by appointment: • Contact Council President(Chair does this) • Set a timeline for filling the position which includes when to advertise, deadline for submission of resumes, date or dates for interviews, and date of final decision (last time the interviews and decision was made on same day) • Advertise the position (attached is the ad used) • Decide on interview format, including time devoted to each candidate, and questions to be asked (questions from last time are attached). Trustee Vacancy Watertown Free Public Library February 2012 The Watertown Free Public Library Board of Trustees is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Library Board. Under the Home Rule charter,the appointment will stand until the next Watertown municipal election, which will be held in November, 2013. Responsibilities of Library Trustee include the custody and management of the Library and reading rooms and all property of the Town devoted to Library purposes; policy setting and budget development. Meetings are held in the Trustees Room at the Library on a monthly basis (usually the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM), with the possibility of special meetings during the year. Interested parties who are a Watertown resident and registered voter in Watertown should submit a cover letter which includes why they are interested in serving on the Board of Library Trustees and resume. Applications will be accepted up to Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 5:OOPM. Applications will be accepted via email to Icole(@watertown-ma.eov or hard copy delivered or mailed (postmarked by February 22)to Leone Cole, Library Director, Watertown Free Public Library, 123 Main Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
