FEBRUARY 2, 1999 The Information Inc., of the City of Lynwood met in a Regular Session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on the above date at 6:23 p.m. Chairman Sanchez presiding. Director Byrd, Reyes, Richards and Sanchez answered the roll call. Director Rea was absent. Also present were Interim City Manager Davis, City Attorney Thever, City Clerk Hooper ' and City Treasurer Pygatt. It was moved by Director Byrd, seconded by Director Richards and carried to excuse Director Rea. City Clerk Hooper announced the Agenda had been duly posted in accordance with The Brown Act. PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS - AGENDA ITEMS ONLY None PUBLIC ORALS Patricia Carr disputed the last meeting held by the Information Inc., stating the salary is not compatible with the job. SCHEDULED MATTERS It was moved by Director Byrd, seconded by Chairman Sanchez and carried to approve the following minutes: a) Regular Meeting, January 19, 1999 Chairman Sanchez then introduced the next item, Extending the Term of the Cable Franchise Agreement. Director Reyes questioned why this item is listed under the Lynwood Information Inc. Feels this is repititious. Director Richards discussed programs carried out through the Information, Inc, that are funded by the Cable Franchise Agreement. Director Reyes stated the Information Inc, has no funding and does not see the justification for this action. It was then moved by Director Byrd, seconded by Director Richards to adopt: LII RESOLUTION NO. 99.1 ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD INFORMATION, INC. EXTENDING THE TERM OF A FRANCHISE WITH AMERICAN CABLESYSTEMS OF CALIFORNIA, INC. D.B.A. MEDIA ONE PENDING COMPLETION OF THE CABLE FRANCHISE RENEWAL PROCESS, NOT EXCEEDING MARCH 16,1999". ROLL CALL: ' AYES: DIRECTOR BYRD, RICHARDS, SANCHEZ NOES: DIRECTOR REYES ABSENT: DIRECTOR REA Chairman Sanchez then introduced the next item, Cable Franchise and the Internet. Director Richards questioned whether or not staff had received the information packets from L.A. Information Technology Stated Lynwood is considering extending their Franchise Agreement with the Information, Inc. Also discussed other cities that are developing libraries of Web sites, and Internet Access by way of Cable TV pp5l Director Byrd discussed Media One, which is moving forward very well in the areas of progress and technology It was then moved by Director Richards, seconded by Director Byrd and carried to. RECEIVE AND FILE THE INFORMATION PROVIDED FOR THE CABLE FRANCHISE AND THE INTERNET.
