MARCH 16, 1999 The Information, Inc., of the City of Lynwood met in a Regular Session in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, on the above date at 7 13 P.M. Chairman Sanchez presiding. Director Byrd, Rea, Reyes, Richards and Sanchez answered the roll call. I Also present were Interim City Manager Davis, City Attorney Thever, City Clerk Hooper and City Treasurer Pygatt. City Clerk Hooper announced the Agenda had been duly posted in accordance with The Brown Act. PUBLIC ORALS None SCHEDULED MATTERS It was moved by Director Byrd, seconded by Director Reyes and carried to approve the following minutes: a) Regular Meeting, March 2, 1999 Chairman Sanchez introduced the next item, Extending the Term of Cable Franchise Agreement. It was moved by Director Byrd, seconded by Director Richards to adopt: RESOLUTION Z. 99.2 ENTITLED: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOOD EXTENDING THE TERM OF A FRANCHISE WITH AMERICAN CABLESYSTEMS OF CALIFORNIA, INC. PENDING COMPLETION OF NEGOTIATIONS FOR A FRANCHISE RENEWAL ". ' ROLL CALL: AYES: DIRECTOR BYRD, REA, REYES, RICHARDS, SANCHEZ NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE Chairman Sanchez introduced the next item, Cable Franchise Agreement and the Internet - Presentation by GTE. A brief presentation was given by Project Manager Valtierra. David Rosenzweig from the Law Offices of Munger, Tolles and Olsen, whose firm represents GTE, in the Open Access Cable Issue, and whose company also coordinates with America On -line gave a presentation. Councilman Richards discussed open access to assure all benefits. Also questioned whether or not this presentation is available for everyone. 1 It was then moved by Director Richards, seconded by Director Reyes and carried to, RECEIVE AND FILE. Chairman Sanchez introduced the next item, Treasurer's Quarterly Investment Report. It was moved by Director Richards, seconded by Director Reyes, and carried to- RECEIVE AND FILE THE ATTACHED QUARTERLY INVESTMENT REPORT FOR THE QUARTER ENDING DECEMBER 1998. . 0 CLOSED SESSION With respect to every item of business to be discussed in closed session pursuant to Section 54956.9, Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation, Number of Cases: 1(Media One Communications), was pulled from closed session.
