A CAPITAL PROJECT AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION OF
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY
BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, SELECTING THE CARPET
BOUTIQUE II, INC. FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF
CARPETING IN THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE
COMMUNITY CENTER; PROVIDING FOR
AUTHORIZATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN ENT ECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne ("Village") has determined that 304 square yards
of carpeting in the Village's Community Center have reached the end of its useful life and need to
be replaced; and
WHEREAS, the Village's interiors consultant has recommended and the Village's staff has
approved of the consultant's recommendation for the type and style of replacement carpeting to be
provided and installed; and
WHEREAS, the Village has obtained three proposals from carpet supply and installation
vendors to perform the necessary work of removing the existing carpeting and replacing it with the
new carpeting specified by the Village's interior decorating consultant, removing and replacing
furniture providing a warranty; and
WHEREAS, Village Manager and staff has reviewed the proposals and has determined that
The Carpet Boutique II, Inc. has proposed the lowest -priced responsive and responsible proposal
for the specified carpeting; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that it is in the best interest of the Village to proceed
as indicated in this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals Adopted. That each of the recitals stated above is hereby adopted
and confirmed.
Section 2. Agreement Approved. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to
prepare and execute a purchase order between the Village and The Carpet Boutique II, Inc. perform
the work described in its proposal, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", for a firm fixed price of
$14,387.00,.
Section 3. Implementation. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to take any
and all actions necessary to implement the purposes of this Resolution and the purchase order.
Section 4. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
adoption hereof.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of February, 2016.
