REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD CITY OF LYNWOOD December 18, 1986 The regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood, California was held on Thursday, December 18, 1986 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Esparza. Roll call was taken by Sue Fevold, Acting Personnel Officer. All commissioners were present PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Litke. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Lidm moved and Commissioner Gilpen seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the November 20, 1986 meeting as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. STUDIES & REPORTS Ms. Fevold distributed the eligibility list for the position of Assistant City Manager to the board and requested their certification The motion was made by Commissioner Felker and seconded by Commissioner Johnson to approve the list for certification All in favor. Motion carried. Ms. Fevold discussed with board members the draft copy of the Classification Study they had received. Ms. Fevold requested the board's review of the plan and their approval for a special meeting before the next meeting of January 15 pending Bob Hyland's availability to explain the study and answer any questions Commissioners agreed. Ms. Fevold noted that the City Council would get a draft copy as well as each employee group and individual copies to each employee at a later date. Mr. Hyland, Cooperative Personnel Services, will be making a presentation to each employee group in the near future. After employees have had time to review their respective classification statements there will be a 2 week appeal period After Mr. Hyland discusses any changes with employees a formal report will be given to Council for their adoption Ms. Fevold briefly went through the draft study plan with board members. ADDITIONAL MATTERS Ms. Fevold advised the commission that Council accepted the board's recommendation for extension of the Code Enforcement Officer eligibility list. Chief Lathrope will interview after the first of the year. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to conduct the motion was made and seconded to adjourn to January 15, 1987 All in favor.
