ORDINANCE NO. 48-2016
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ANNUAL COMPENSATION
AND BENEFITS OF RICHMOND POLICE OFFICERS
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d) requires Common Council as the legislative body of the
City of Richmond, Indiana, to fix the annual compensation of all police officers by
ordinance before November 1 st of each year for the ensuing budget year; and
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d) also authorizes the Board of Public Works and Safety to fix
the compensation of members of the Richmond Police Officers if the Common
Council fails to do so; and
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City of Richmond that the Common Council of the City
of Richmond, Indiana proceed to fix the annual compensation of the Richmond
Police Officers pursuant to Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that pursuant to Indiana Code 36-8-3-3(d) the following positions are authorized by the
Common Council to be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during
calendar year 2017, to wit:

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ALSO ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, that as additional compensation to the bi-weekly salaries set forth in Sections
1.01 through 1.07 above, all benefits finalized and as set forth in the current fully executed contract
between the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the City of Richmond, Indiana and John
Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police are incorporated by reference.
Passed and adopted this Z2- day of 6, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
