AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW SCHEDULE OF RATES FOR
SERVICES RENEERED BY RI(HNM POWER $ LIGHT, THE
MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF
RIC1-bM, INDIANA AND MATTERS RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond is the owner and operator of an
electric utility system supplying said City and the inhabitants thereof with
electricity for public, domestic and industrial uses under the style of
Richmond Power & Light (RP$L); and,
WHEREAS, RP&L filed with the Public Service Commission of Indiana
a petition seeking approval of a new schedule of electric rates and charges
on March 13, 1980 which said petition was subsequently heard by the Commis-
sion and an order issued thereon on August 6, 1980 which order provided for
RP$L to file a new schedule of rates and charges with the Commission which
said rates and charges complying with said order are set forth in Exhibit "A"
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof; and,
WHEREAS, the Council now finds that the rates and charges set
forth in said Exhibit "A" comply with the order of the Public Service
Commission of August 6, 1980 and should be approved by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of Richmond as follows:
SECTION 1. That there shall be and there is hereby established
for the use of and the service rendered by the electric utility system of
the City of Richmond, Indiana known as Richmond Power & Light a new schedule
of rates which have heretofore been approved by the Public Service Commission
of Indiana and which rates are set forth in Exhibit "A", which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION Z. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed; provided however, that the existing schedule
of electric rates shall remain in full force and effect until the schedule
of rates fixed by this ordinance shall be filed with and approved by the
Public Service Commission of Indiana.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
