SPECIAL ORDINANCE NO. 85-1980
AN ORDINANCE TO ANNEX TO THE CITY OF RiaMND, INDIANA CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS
TERRITORY, ADJACENT AND ABUTTING THERETO, DESCRIBING THE SAME, PROVIDING
FOR THE PUBLICATION THEREOF, AND FIXING THE TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE
EFFECT.
WHEREAS, Charles C. Miles and Margaret A. Miles, each owning one hundred
percent (100%) of certain parcels of land, all being within the
hereinafter described area, have petitioned the Comore Council
of the City of Richmond, Indiana for the voluntary annexation
of said hereinafter described area, as set out, and in accord-
ance with I.C. 18-5-10-23; and,
WHEREAS, the area to be annexed is contiguous and adjacent to the present
boundary of the City of Richmond, Indiana..
WHEREAS, a study of this Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond City Plan
Comnission the day of , 1980, at
which time remonstrances were heard from all parties interested
in or affected by this Ordinance.
WHEREAS, the vote of the City Plan Comnission was to in
favor of/in opposition to recommending the passage office
No. 85-1980.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Cocoon Council of the City of Richmond,
Wayne County, Indiana:

SECTION 1. That the following described territory, adjacent to the corporate
boundaries of the City of Richmond, be annexed to and hereby is de-
clared to be a part of the saie City of Richmond, Indiana.; said
territory being located in Wayne Township, Wayne County, State of
Indiana, and more particularly described as follows to wit:
Located in the southeast quarter of Section 3, Township 13 North,
Range 1 West, Wayne Township, Wayne County, Indiana., being part
of the land conveyed to Charles C. Miles and Margaret A. Miles by
deed recorded in Deed Book 384, page 524 of the Wayne County Deed
Records, and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the south line of said Section 3 and in
the centerline of Hodgin Road, said point of beginning being lo-
cated South 89 degrees 38 minutes 05 seconds East a distance of
890.00 feet from the southwest corner of the southeast quarter
of said Section 3; thence Due North for 989.43 feet to the north
line of the said Miles land, a portion of this course also being
the east line of Lots 11, 12, and 13 of Woodgate Subdivision,
Section 1 as recorded in Plat Book 11, page 357 of the Wayne
County Plat Records; thence South 89 degrees 29 minutes 57 seconds
East for 368.84 feet to the northeast corner of the said Miles
land; thence South 00 degrees 29 minutes 43 seconds West for 988.54
feet to the southeast corner of the said Miles land and to the
south line of said Section 3 and the centerline of Hodgin Road;
thence with the south line of said Section 3 and the centerline
of Hodgin Road; North 89 degrees 38 minutes 05 seconds West for
360.29 feet to the point of beginning; and containing 8.277 acres.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage by Common Council and approval by the Mayor and the
publication hereof as required by law.
