JUNE 14, 1993
The regular meeting of the Community Access Advisory Board of the
City of Lynwood was held June 14, 1993 in the City Hall
Conference Room. (The Agenda was duly posted as prescribed by
the Brown Act.)
Chairperson Ann A. Fields called the meeting to order at 5:30
p.m. Members in attendance were Bill Cunningham, Ann A. Fields,
Ada McZeal, and Ethel Pacheco. Commissioner Olympia Dudenhoeffer
was excused from the meeting.
Staff present were Johonna Jacobs - Howard, Ron Roberson, and
Silvia Lara.
Also present was Councilman Armando Rea.
Minutes of the April 12, 1993, regular meeting were approved as
received.
I. SCHEDULED MATTERS
A. INVENTORY
Ms. Howard mentioned that an updated inventory list was
prepared and submitted for commissioners review. In
reviewing the inventory list, approximately three items
were not accounted for. There is a possibility that
former employee Morris was using those items. The items
could have been evicted for investigation.
Ms. McZeal suggested to ask the Sheriff's Department if
some of the items evicted included the camera case and
tape recorder.
Ms. Howard mentioned that she will prepare a memo and
address it to the City Manager to inform him of the
situation with missing items.
Councilman Rea mentioned that a letter should be mailed
to Los Angeles County Homicide Division, Attn: Detective
Durazo, asking him if the missing items were indeed
confiscated for the Morris case and if he could let the
commission know.
Commissioners extended and invitation to Councilman
Armando Rea to attend a Showcase viewing.
Councilman Rea donated a microwave oven to be used at the
Lynwood Cable Studio.

SPECIAL THANKS FROM THE COMMISSIONERS TO COUNCILMAN REA
Commissioners unanimously agreed on purchasing a thank
you card for Councilman Rea.
Ms. McZeal mentioned the G.E.D. graduation which is being
sponsored by the organizations of Concern Citizens of
Lynwood (CCL) and Parents Interested in Education (PIE).
The ceremonies will consist of a dinner and dance on
Friday, June 18, 1993, and a Graduation ceremony on
Saturday, June 19, 1993 (2 -4 p.m.)
Ms. McZeal also mentioned that there was a total of 450
graduates from the Cities of Paramount, Lynwood,
Compton, and Carson.
B. LYNWOOD CABLE PRODUCTION SERVICES ADULT TRAINING WORKSHOP
Mr. Roberson mentioned that the Lynwood Cable Production
Services Adult Training Workshop is basically the same
as the Lynwood Cable Internship training program, which
is learning the basics in video production.
Ms. Roberson explained that editing requires a lot of
creativity.
II. PUBLIC ORALS
- Ms. Howard mentioned that she has prepared a memo per
commissioners' request to Councilman Heine requesting
permission to purchase a small refrigerator and
microwave.
- Ms. Howard also mentioned that per commissioners' request
she also prepared a memo requesting clerical assistance
for the cable studio.
- Ms. McZeal mentioned that the appearance of the Lynwood'n
Perspective was very nice and colorful.
- Mr. Cunningham suggested to have an interim commissioner
in the absence of Commissioner Dudenhoeffer. Ms. Howard
will prepare a memo to City Manager requesting an interim
commissioner.
- Ms. Howard mentioned that there will be a viewing of
Showcase # 48 which will take place during the meeting of
July 12, 1993.
There being no further business, the Community Access Advisory
Board meeting was adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
