MINUTES
DECEMBER 2, 1992
OPENING CEREMONIE'S

the Lynwood Teen Center, 11409 Birch Street at 6:05 p.m.
Chairperson Cornecia Banos was distributing gifts at St. Frincis
Hospital on behalf of the Commission.
Vice Chair person Jesus Trigo presided.
Vice Chairperson Jesup; Trigo, Commissioners Agaalii, Airada,
ArAujo, C. Green, Hardin, and Zavala answered roll call.
Commissioners S. Green, J.Perez and Wells did not answer roll
call.
]Interim Facility and Program Supervisor, Diana Escalante
introduced Alton Hamilton III as the newly appointed Youth
Commissinner.
Ms. Diana Escalante certified the posting of the agenda.
It was moved by Commissiuner Zavala and seconded by Commissioner
AraUjo to approve the minutes of October 7, 1992. Motion carried.
It was moved by Commissioner Araujo and seconded by Commissioner
C. Green to approve the minutes of November 4, 1992. Motion
carried.
Interim Facility and Program Supervisor Diana Escalante informed
the Commission that Commissioner Jaime Perez would not be in
attendance at tonight's meeting. Commissioner C. Green reported
Commissioner S. Green was ill and would not be present.
INFORMATIONAL. ITEMS
General end FarF:.s Report
Interim Facility and Program Supervisor Diana Escalante reported
City of Lynwood will be sponsoring their annual Christmas; Candy
Cane Lane-Parade on Friday, December 4, 1992. All Commissioners
are invited to ride in the parade.
Peen _Center-/ _Youth Counci l
Interim Facility and Program Supervisor Diana Escalante
distributed the monthly program report, Youth Council minutes and
brie +ly discussed the recent burglary at the Teen Center.

Ms. Escalante also invited the Commissioners to attend the Youth
Conference at California State University, Dominguez Hills on
Tuesday, December 15. The symposium is sponsored by the City of
Lynwood and Youth representatives from various cities in southern
California will be in alwan±anue. If any Comlli`sioner needs
transportation, a bus will be departing tram the Teen Center at
7 :00 a.m, on this day.
Chairperson Cornecia banks arrived at 6:20 p.m.
Y99th Summit
Interim Facility and Program Supervisor Diana Escalante informed
the Commission that the Youth Summit Committee met in November to
begin planning the event, scheduled for Saturday, March 27. The
Committee has requested the assistance of the Youth Commission to
help distribute refreshements and lunches on this day. It was
moved by Commissioner Araujo and seconded by Commissioner Zavala
to approve the Youth Commission's involvement in the Youth
Summit. Motion carried.
ORAL COMMUNICATION
Public Orals
Denise Haley, 2360 killen Court, expressed her concern about the
"childish" behavior displayed by some of the Commissioners at
the meeting.

Commissioner Maylene Harding apoligized for not attending the
previous two meetings.
Commissioner Fernando Airada apoligized for not attending the
last three meetings.
Chairperson Cornecia banks thanked the Commissioners who
remembered to bring Christmas gifts for the children at St.
Francis Hospital.

Agaalii to adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting_ on
Wednesday,,. January 6, 1993. Motion carried.
