BATEMAN HALL Meetings with Arthur Wright of Non -Stop Productions regarding Summer Concert and Dance scheduled for August 20, 1993, and Blues Lovers Night on November 12, 1993. Began coordinating Senior Olympic Program. Attended Senior Citizen's Advisory Board Meeting. Attended Cinco de Mayo Committee Meeting. Picked up movie and supplies for Senior Citizen's Movie Day. Meeting with E. Cordova, owner of Dance L.A. Studio, regarding coordinating Senior Olympic Ballroom Dance Competition at Bateman Hall on May 11, 1993. Ordered awards for Senior Olympic Program. Cleaned gutters around pool. Unstopped toilet in men's LA. Removed fan belt and motor in women's LA. Cleaned safety buoys. Repainted pipes in filter room. Fixed heat motor over lobby. Replaced ight bulbs in WLA, filter room, boiler room, MLA, cage, guard room, and safe room. Secured loose silicone drains to deck. Rewired heater over lobby area for proper usage. Lubed exhaust room motors. Repainted thirty (30) panels in electrical room. Cleaned chlorine tanks. Rerouted phone lines into counter. Degressed pit room walls and floor. Replaced light fixture in front lobby. Repainted waste line, pump base, and line around caution area of filter room. Repaired electrical shortage in WLA exhaust blower. Disconnected north side under water light. Put up warning signs in boiler room, chlorine room and safe room. Resecured security lights to the building. Tightening all valves on packing nuts. Met with potential pool renter. Cleaned windows in lobby area fourteen (14) times. Cleaned front women's rest room twenty two (22) times. Picked up palm tree branches from front of building. Pulled weeds from planters in patio area of pool. Cut overgrown tree branches from in front of building. Hosed down west end of pool four (4) times. Hosed down east end of pool four (4) times. Disinfected west end of pool. Swim Team Booster Club meeting two (2 times). Reorganized drawers in front lobby. Disinfected WLA hosed down. Cleaned and reorganized safe room. Cleaned and disinfected guard room. Sent lifeguards to St. Francis Hospital for blood testing. Started lifeguard training. White shirt drills performed four (4) times. Updated monthly calendar two (2) times. Cleaned back patio window ledges. Disinfected three (3) lifeguard stands four (4) times. John Ford, Rosie Carrillo and Jim Coles attended Chlorine Safety Class. Completed Birthday Club letters for April. Made copies of fliers at City Hall. Refilled fliers at Bateman Hall, Teen Center and Recreation Center. Developed new contract for review for coaches. Completed minutes for Booster meeting. Filed monthly water reading. Conducted staff meeting. Disinfected bleachers on both west and east ends. Mailed May birthday cards. Deposited recreation swim daily monies. Received, counted, receipted, and deposited money six (6) times. Sign -up for swim lessons daily. Typed awards. Sent out introduction letters. Sent out "Five (5) Day" letters. Sent out "Dear Parents" letters. COMMUNITY /TRANSIT CENTER 1. 1993 Youth Basketball The regular season for the 1993 Youth Basketball ended this month with a divisional in -house tournament. The Lynwood Sports Association entered teams into the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation Basketball Tournament held in various local cities. Two teams successfully qualified for the Championship held in the City of Oceanside, March 27th and 28th. We had one team place 4th (11 -12 years) and a second team finish 2nd (9 -10 years). Congratulations!!! • Page 9 COMMUNITY /TRANSIT CENTER (coat.) 2. 1993 Youth Baseball /Softball 40 The 1993 Boys /Girls Baseball/ Softball Program is continuing sign -ups for youth from the ages of 5 years to 16 years. The season opens on May 1, 1993, on diamond #1, at 11:00 a.m. We currently have an all- volunteer coaching staff and concession stand program. L.S.A. is doing an outstanding job this year. It should prove to be a great season!!! 3. Open Gym The Community Center currently is open to the general public during the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Fridays, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays. 4. Racquetball courts The Community Center racquetball court is available daily from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please call the Recreation Department for reservations. 5. Fifteen (15) people in attendance. 3) Held "Self- Esteem Workshop" from 6:OOpm to 8:OOpm. Approxmitely 53 people in attendance. 4) CYGS held Easter Program. Facility used for preparing Easter baskets. Usage for two (2) weeks from 9:00am - 12:30pm. Kitchen used on the day of the Easter Program for food preparation. 5) Provided tutoring on a daily basis for ten (10) students.
