A R,ESOLUTION OF THE VILT-,AGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AIJTHORIZING
THE }-UNDING OF PROGRAMMA'TIC SUPPORT AT THE
KEY RISCAYNE K.8 CENTER AND MARITIME & SCIENCE
TECHNOLOGY (MAST) ACADEMY, AS PROVIDED IN

PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZATION; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE"
WHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne (the "Village") Village Council created the Key
Bisca¡me Education AdvisoryBoard (the "EAB") to examine and advise on educational issues within
the Village; and
WHEREASothe EAB has examined various programmatic issues at the KeyBiscayne K-8
Center and MAST Academy and has recommended funding be provided by the Village to the
schools in an amount not to exceed $60,000 as further described in Exhibit'oA" to this Resolution;
and
WHEREAS,the Village Council has reviewed this request and desires to provide such funding
to the schools; and
\TIIEREAS' the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and welfare of
the residents of the Village.
NO\ry, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COT]NCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1". Recitals Adopted. Each of the above stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confirmed and incorporated herein.
Section 2. School Funding. The Village Council hereby authorizes programmatic frnding,
in an amount not to exceed $60,000, to the Key Biscayne K-8 Center and MAST Academy as fi.rther
described in Exhibit oA" to this Resolution.
Section 3. Village Manager Authorized. The Village Manager is hereby authorized to take
any and all steps necessary to implement the intent and purpose of this Resolution.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall be ef[ective immediatelyupon adoption.
