HomeMy Public PortalAbout004-2017 - Grant - blanket for yearORDINANCE NO. 4-2017 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF GRANTS FROM VARIOUS SOURCES WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond through its Parks Department administration ("Parks Department") is aware of numerous grant application opportunities available during the 2017 calendar year from various sources where the respective grant programs (a) do not require local fund matches out of the City's budget; or (b) only require matches that are labor "in kind" matches; and WHEREAS, The Parks Department wishes to apply for said grants in order to take advantage of each respective grant opportunity and meet any recurring deadlines in a timely manner. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that in accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-4-6-18, the Common Council approves the appropriation of any monies received during the 2017 calendar year from the following grant sources in the event the Parks Department applies for said funds in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10 and where said grant programs (a) do not require any local matches; or (b) only require matches that are labor "in -kind" matches: Ackerman Foundation Aetna Foundation Austin Memorial Foundation Ben and Jerry Foundation Bridgestone/Firestone Trust Fund Cincinnati Reds Community Fund Color Box/Georgia Pacific CVS Community Relations Grant Dr. Pepper/Snapple Keep America Beautiful Duke Energy Efroymson Family Fund Eli Lilly & Company Foundation, Inc. Finish Line Youth Foundation For the Love of Richmond Game Time Good Sports Hamburger Helper Indiana Arts Commission Indiana Criminal Justice Institute Indiana Humanities Council Indiana Parks & Recreation Association Indiana Youth Institute KaBoom Kroger Foundation Lego Children's Fund Lilly Endowment Lowes Heroes Program Lowes Home Improvement National Richmond & Park Association Nina Pulliam Charitable Trust Pacers Foundation Peyback Foundation Purdue Inspiring Families Quigg Family Foundation Reid Community Benefit Roger & Bancroft Clark Charitable Trust Ronald McDonald House Charities Safeco Indianapolis Scholastic Books Grants Program SIA Foundation Stamm Koechlein Family Foundation Tri Kappa s r TechPoint Foundation UPS Foundation United Way of the Whitewater Valley United States Department of Agriculture Vigran Family Foundation Walmart Foundation Wayne County Foundation West End Bank Charitable Foundation Whitewater Valley REMC Wolverine Worldwide Foundation NOW, THEREFORE, be also it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that said funds, if awarded from an above -described source, shall be appropriated in the respective amounts awarded from said source to the Parks Department, and shall be appropriated to fund Parks Department activities.
