A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, AWARDING
A CONTRACT TO DMC ENGINEERING, INC. AS THE SECOND LOWEST
RESPONSIBLE BIDDER IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED OF $53,432 FOR THE
NEW PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; PROJECT NUMBER 4011.67.002;
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the New Pedestrian Improvement Project, Project No. 4011.67.002,
is scheduled for completion during Fiscal Year 2011 -2012; and
WHEREAS, Public Works staff advertised the project on March 8, 2012; and
WHEREAS, ten contractors received project plans and contract documents; and
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the office of the City Clerk on March
29, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Garco Engineering was the apparent lowest bidder with a low base
bid of $46,050; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works / City Engineer has ascertained that
the Garco Engineering bid was not responsive, and
WHEREAS, DNC Engineering, Inc. is the second apparent lowest bidder with a
low base bid of $53,432; and
WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor has the
necessary experience for this type of project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the contract for the New Pedestrian Improvement Project,
Project No. 4011.67.002 be awarded to DMC Engineering, Inc. for its low bid of
$53,432.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and DMC Engineering, Inc.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 1 day of May, 2012.
