AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1700-1958, C0.k2CNLY kNOi'N AS THE'. BUILDING CODE r.;F THE
CITY OF RICH?&ND, INDIANA APPROVED DECEMBER 2, M58.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the E,aty of Richmond, Indiana as follows:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, Paragraph 405, E ceions, of C',Pdinance 1700-1953 c.ounonly known as
the Building Code of the City of Richmond, Indiana reads as follows:
EXCEPTIONS
(a) Any cases or types of construction not fully covered in this
code may be ruled on by the commissioner of buildings with
reference to the F.H.A. rules and regulations, if applicable.
(b) In no case shall grade beern foundation be accepted for dwellings.
WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to amend said Paragraph 405, Exceoti:nns,
to allow for the adoption of construction standards which will assure well planned, sale
and soundly constructed one and two family living units within the City of Richmond, Indiana.

SECTION 2. It is hereby ordained that Paragraph 405, Exceptions, of the Richmond Building
Code be and the same is, hereby changed to read as follows:
405. ADOPTION OF FEDERAL HOUSING Ai VINISTRATION h":INI1AJrv. PROPERTY STANDARD FGR
ONE AND 7 O LIVING UNITS.
Except where the Federal Housing Admit,istration Minimum Property Standards
:or one and two living units No. 300 is in conflict with this Chapter, such
regulations are hereby adopted and approved for the construction, alteratio -1
and repair of all one and two family living units in the City of Ricl-mond,
Indiana and are made a part of this chapter as full, as though every viord,
clause, phrase, sentence, illustration, sections and parts thereof were
setout herein.

inspection.
For provisions of state law relative to the Incorporation within a municipal code of m�-tter
by reference and requiring two (2) copies thereof to be on file in the office of the City
Clerk for public inspection, see Burn's Indiana Statute 48-1417.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in 'full force and effect rom and after its passage,
approval by the Uayor and publication as by law required.
