AN ORDINANCE TO TRANSFER THE SUM, OF TWC THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,800.00) FROM
GENERAL FUND CASH OPERATING, TO POLICE DEPARTkENT BUDGET ACCOUNT NO. GENERAL L-26 (7-72-722)
tUTOR EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, a request has been made by the Chief of Police for the purchase of a police cruiser
to replace the cruiser that was damaged beyond repair in a collision with a stolen truck
the night of April 16, 1968, and
WHEREAS, there are no funds left in this account as it was used for the purchase of new
cruisers, one of which is the wrecked unit, and
WHEREAS, this money may be recovered later in an action against the owner of the truck, at
which time it will be credited back into the General Fund, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety of Richmond, Indiana in regular session May 169
1968 approved that an Ordinance be prepared for the transfer of monies needed to make pur-
chase of a police cruiser.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the
year ending December 31, 19689 the following money is hereby appropriated and set apart
out of the fund named for the purpose specified, said sum being subject to all laws govern-
ing the same. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures authorized
to be made during the year, unless expressly stipulated by law.
SECTION 2. That for the fiscal period there is hereby appropriated from the General Fund
Cash Operating to meet the extraordinary emergency declared to exist.

SECTION 3. WHEREAS, it has been shown that certain existing appropriations now have
unobligated balances which will not be used for the purpose appropriated.
It is therefore ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana that such
unnecessary appropriations be now reduced in amount as follows, and the same is appropriated
to the above named item:

SECTION 4. An extraordinary emergency exists for the above appropriation.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing
emergency appropriations.
