ORDINANCE NO. 2353-1968
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CUMULATIVE BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO PROVIDE
FUNDS FOR THE PLANNING AND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STORM SEWERS AND THE RE-
MODELING, REPAIRING OR EXTENSION OF SAME, AND FOR RELIEF SEWERS AND DRAINS
IN AID OF SANITARY SYSTEMS OR STREET SEWERS OR FOR ANY OR ALL OF THE ABOVE
ENUMERATED MUNICIPAL UNDERTAKINGS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana:
SECTION 1. That there be and there is hereby established a Cumulative Building
and Sinking Fund to provide funds for the planning and for the conste4urtion of
storm sewers and the remodeling, repairing or extension of same, and for relief
sewers and drains in aid of sanitary systems or street sewers or for any or all
of the above enumerated municipal undertakings.
SECTION 2. AND that there be levied an additional tax at the rate of fifteen
($0.15) cents on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of taxable and personal
property within the taxing district to provide monies for said fund, said tax
to be first levied in 1968, payable in 1969, and annually thereafter for a total
period of five (5) years, expiring in 1973, as provided for in ACTS of 1967,
Chapter 146.
SECTION 3. THAT notice be given to the taxpayers affected by the proposed action
as provided by law, and that a public hearing on the proposal be held at 7:30 p.m.
on the 3rd day of September, 1968 at the City Building, Richmond, Indiana at which
time all interested taxpayers shall be heard.
SECTION 4. THAT, thereafter, the proofs of publication and posting of public
notice of public hearing, together with a certified copy of this Ordinance, be
sent to the State Board of Tax Commissioners, State of Indiana, as provided by
law.
SECTION 5. THIS Ordinance shall be in full force and effect and after its passage
and signing by the Mayor.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana on the day of 1968.
