A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
A RENEWAL OF THE CONTRACT WITH VASQUEZ & COMPANY LLP TO AUDIT
THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2012 AT A NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $70,000, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT AND THE
ENGAGEMENT LETTER
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood, in 2009, approved a three -
year contract with Vasquez & Company LLP to audit the financial statements of the City
of Lynwood and Lynwood Redevelopment Agency. Vasquez & Company LLP has
audited the City's financial statements for three years, for the fiscal year ended June 30,
2009 through the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Vasquez & Company LLP was previously selected due to the firm's
extensive audit experience with governmental entities; and
WHEREAS, the fiscal year ends in June and the interim audit fieldwork generally
begins in May or June of each fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, Vasquez & Company LLP is familiar with the City's financial system,
and policies and procedures, thereby providing continuity and consistency in auditing
the City's financial statements.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
order, and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the engagement of Vasquez & Company LLP to provide audit
services for the City of Lynwood for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012 is approved at
a not to exceed amount of $70,000.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement and the
Engagement Letter with Vasquez & Company, LLP attached hereto and incorporated
herein.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15 day of May, 2012.
