• RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, AWARDING
• CONTRACT TO SEQUEL CONTRACTORS, INC. AS THE LOWEST
RESPONSIBLE BIDDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $479,272 FOR THE JOSEPHINE
STREET' IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; PROJECT NUMBER 4011.67.870
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Josephine Street Improvement Project, Project No
4011 67 870, is scheduled for completion during Fiscal Year 2011 -2012; and
WHEREAS, Public Works staff advertised the project on March 12, 15 and 22,
2012; and ,
WHEREAS, eight contractors - received project plans and contract documents,
and
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the office of the City Clerk on April 5,
`2012, and the Director of Public Works / City Engineer has ascertained that Sequel
Contractors, Inc. was the apparent lowest responsible bidder for its base bid of
$479,272; and
WHEREAS, a reference check has revealed that this contractor has the
necessary experience for this type of project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the contract for the Josephine Street Improvement Project,
'Project No 4011 67 870 be awarded to Sequel Contractors, Inc. for its low bid of
$479,272.
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City of Lynwood and Sequel Contractors, Inc.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The'City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
