.M ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($19000.00) FROM CASH
OWTINGRIND, TO BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY BUDGET ACCOUNT NO. J-23 (5-53)
=VtFNT CHARGES, REFUNDS, AWARDS AND INDEMNITIES•
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety has made a request to transfer the sum
of $19000.00 from Cash Operating Fund to Board of Public Works and Safety Account
No. J-23 (5-53) Current Charges, Refunds, Awards and Indemnities, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works and Safety Budget Account No. J-23 (5-53) Current
Charges., Refunds, Awards and Indemnities shows a balance of $185.009 and
WHEREAS, there is a claim against the City of Richmond, Indiana filed by Ruth Ellen
Kunz for personal injuries sustained by a fall which occurred March 309 1965 in the
amount of $400.009-and
WHEREAS, it has been shown by the City Attorney that additional funds will be needed
in the future for such claims, and
WHEREAS, certain extraordinary emergencies have developed since the adoption of the
existing, -annual budget so that it is now necessary to .appropriate more money for the
various•functions of the City Government than was appropriated. in the annual budget.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana
SECTION 1. That for the expenses of the City Government and its institutions for the
year ending December 31, 1967, the following money is hereby appropriated and set apart
out of the fund named for the purpose specified, said sum being subject to all laws
governing the saw. Such amount appropriated shall be held to include all expenditures
authorized to be made during the year, unless expressly stipulated by law.
SECTION 2. That for the fiscal period there is hereby appropriated from the Cash
Operating Fund to meet the extraordinary emergency declared to exist.

SECTION 3. WHEREAS, it has been shown that certain existing appropriations now have
unobligated balances which will not be used for the purpose appropriated.
It is therefore ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana that
such unnecessary appropriations be now reduced in amount as follows, and the same is
appropriated to the above named -items

SECTION 4. An extraordinary emergency exists for the above appropriation.
SECT70H 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval by the Mayor and is subject to the laws of the State of Indiana governing
emergency appropriation.
