AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1472.1953, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF RICHMOND, INDIANA APPROVED APRIL 21,1953.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CObSUN COUNCIL of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1472-19531,.commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance
of Richmond, and the Zone map made a part thereof, described and designated as
"A" Residential, the following described territory in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana,
to wit:
A part of the northeast quarter of Section 31, Township 14, Range 1.
west, and bounded as follows: Beginning at a point in the quarter section
line 112.86 rods west of the southeast corner of said quarter and 20 rods
east of the southwest corner of the real estate of William Thistlethwaite
in said quarter; thence north 2 degrees and 43 minutes east 40 rods;
thence east 20 rods; thence south 2 degrees and 43 minutes west 40 rods
to the quarter section line; thence west 20 rods to the place of beginning,
containing five acres, more or less, and subject to the right of the
railroad company running with the railroad on the south side of the above
described land, this five acre tract intended to be hereby conveyed to be
so located as to leave a distance of 20 rods between the west line of this
five acre tract and the west line of said Wliam Thistlethwaiteas land
In said quarter. Also a part of the northeas, quarter of Section 31,
Township 14, Range 1 west, described as follows, towit: Beginning at a
point 75 feet north of the south line and 1406.85 feet west'of the east
line of said quarter section; thence west 125.34 feet; thence north at an
angle of 92 degrees 46 minutes with the center of the south main track
of the Pennsylvania Railroad company 585 feet to a point on the south side
of Indiana Avenue; thence east 122.82 feet; thence southward 585 feet to
the north right of way line of the Pennsylvania Railroad, which is the
place of beginning, commonly known -as 641 Indiana Avenue, owned by
Ernest Hotsenpiller.
WHEREAS, it is the purpose and intention hereof to change the .use of said territory
to General Business
NOW THEREFORE:
SECTION 2. It is hereby ordained that the use district in the Zoning Ordinance and
on the Zone map be, and the same is hereby changed covering the above described ter-
ritory to General Business and that said territory and the use and area thereof
be regulated accordingiy.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval by the Mayor and publications as by law required.
PASSED, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, this day
