AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE AND PROVIDE FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN ELECTRIC FACILITIES
BY RICHMOtD POWER AND LIGHT.
MIREAS, the City of Richmond, Indiana, is the owner of and operates a wumWpal
electric utility, and
VKREAS, Mayne County Rural Electric U mbership Corporation is the owner of and
operates certain electric facilities, hereinafter wore particularly described in
a proposed Contract attached hereto$ wade a part hereof and mrrked Exhibit I, and
WGREA$, said City is anxious to purchase such facilities and RB C is anxious to
sell such facilities, and
VHE "j the Comon Council, of this City, believes that it is in the best Interests
of the City and of the electrical consumers served by it that such purchase be wade,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, that,
SSMON 1. The City shall enter into contract Bet forth and described herein as
Exhibit I hereof, which contract is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. The Hoard of Directors of the Richmond Power and Light be and they are
hereby authorized to use so such of the Cash Operating Fond or Depreciation Fund
as may be accessary to Purchase -the property described in said contract.
$=. ON 3. The General.Manager-of Richmond Power and Light is hereby authorized
to sooecute said contract on behalf of the City of Richmond and Richmond Power and
Light, and to take such steps, as may be necessary or desirable to esrry out the
terms of said contract.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval by the Mayor. '
